New jacket

Let me put emphasis on the statement I m about to make. I do not like to spend a lot of money on clothes. In fact I like a good bargain on anything, but today it's all about the clothes. To be honest I am being kind of cheep because I feel the need to save money because I am getting married and well, money saving is something that comes with marriage, growing up, and as my little sister would put it, "Being a big person."

Anyway, I have been thinking that I need a new jacket to add to my clothing collection. I decided that it needed to be something that I could wear with pants, a dress, and a skirt. The only catch is that it had to come to $30. Well....

I found a jacket here:
It was $42, but I got if for $19!

New Last Name

For those of you who must know I am not hyphenating my name again. It will not look like this: Kiah Ruggieri - Vande Putte - Geyense. It will however change from Ruggieri - Vande Putte to Geleynse. Shorter, but it will still be pronounced wrong. Its an improvement from Kiah Ruggieri - Vande Putte to Kiah Geleynse. Not as many letters. : )

June 25, 2011

June 25th, 2011 is the day I am getting married (did you all read that correctly? I am getting MARRIED) to my best friend Mikey. I can't wait to get married. I however am not looking forward to some aspects of wedding planning. Thank goodness I have a lot of people that have offered to help out. I am happy that Mikey and I have some time and things don't have to happen that fast.

I moved up to Bellingham to go to college for two years after some of my scholarships fell through. I didn't expect to like the area so much. I most certainly didn't expect to start dating somebody and then start planning a wedding. Glad God knows exactly what he was doing. : )

Funny/ Bad Dream

A couple of nights ago I had a dream.

I dreamed that I was getting married and as my groom and I were leaving for the honeymoon my dress got caught in the door of the red Mustang Convertible. As we where waving to all our friends and family (aka the people that stay behind and help clean-up) we just pretended that nothing was wrong.

However...

It became a problem. We arrived at our hotel we were going to be spending the night in before we left for our honeymoon and I had to get out of the car. Only problem was that somehow my dress was really, really stuck in the door. We tried everything to get it unstuck. The only solution was for me to get out of my dress in-front of the hotel so that we could open the door.

Great dream...

When I had the dream I woke-up having way too many thoughts running through my brain. So, for my wedding day I hope that it does not happen and if it does happen my groom and I will be able to fix the problem with the smallest amount of embarrassment. I possible. I also hope that I don't have to worry about car color. : )

1 Corinthians 7

For my quiet time I am reading 1 Corinthians and last night/ today I working on reading 1 Corinthians 7. 1 Corinthians 7 is about marriage. Before you get scared/ freak-out I am NOT getting married yet.

Anyway, back to 1 Corinthians 7. First off it took me 2 days to read 1 Corinthians 7 because there was so much information I was a bit overwhelmed (but the Bible does that to me most of the time) with what God had to say about being single, dating, and marriage. Before you get on me and say, "Ummm Kiah 1 Corinthians is about marriage." Please remember that the Bible has a lot of stories and lessons in it about everything possible.

"I would like you to be free from concern. An unmarried man is concerned about the Lord's affairs—how he can please the Lord. But a married man is concerned about the affairs of this world—how he can please his wife— and his interests are divided. An unmarried woman or virgin is concerned about the Lord's affairs: Her aim is to be devoted to the Lord in both body and spirit. But a married woman is concerned about the affairs of this world—how she can please her husband. I am saying this for your own good, not to restrict you, but that you may live in a right way in undivided devotion to the Lord." 1 Corinthian 7:32-35 (NIV)

So this is pretty cool. I think its God saying that while we are single and not dating anybody we have one person to impress. That person would be God. But, when we are dating there is more then one person to impress. Those people would be God and the person we are dating. Now, only because we are human we will usually end up working more to impress the person we are dating. Actually, we should really be working on impressing God. God is the one that brought you guys together.

I think the point of 1 Corinthians 7:32-37 is to let people know while it is awesome that we are dating/ married to someone we need to work on a relationship that is like the relationship we had with Him before we started dating or were married.
